Nordic-Baltic creative clusters
The aim of the creative panel is to introduce new flexible ways of co-operation among creative entrepreneurs in the Nordic-Baltic area and to show possibilities for Baltic creative entrepreneurs and freelancers to start working within Nordic creative clusters. Ants has been working in the field of advertising from 1992, when he led the local Grey agency. After 1999 he has been the head of several agencies in Creative Union. Before getting the international business management degree from Estonian Business School, he had studied theatre directing, culture, diplomacy and marketing. Worked also in theatre, television and radio.
Ants has been a presenter in many leading marketing seminars, he has consulted couple of hundred companies in branding, marketing communication and advertising.
Päivi Lappalainen
Programme Director at City of Turku
“Building the future of tourism through innovation and networking”
Päivi Lappalainen (University of Turku, Master of Arts in Cultural Research) is working as Programme Director for Tourism and Experience Management Competence Cluster in Southwest Finland for Turku Touring. Turku Touring is a regional marketing, sales and development organisation for tourism business mainly owned by the city of Turku.
The Centre of Expertise for Tourism and Experience Management is part of a national Centre of Expertise programme. The programme is implemented by the Lapland, Savonlinna region, Uusimaa, Southwest Finland and Jyväskylä region centres of excellence. In Southwest Finland, the operation of the Centre of Expertise for Tourism and Experience Management is coordinated by Turku Science Park Ltd, and Turku Touring is responsible for the implementation.
Päivi Lappalainen has been involved in developing culturally sustainable tourism products nearly for 20 years. As a researcher she has worked in several museums and has a long perspective in culture and tourism in many ways.
Turku will be the European capital of culture in year 2011. This will be a great challenge – and a great chance for the whole Finland in building cultural tourism destinations.
Mocci Ryen
Idékokeriet
“New day, new opportunities; Making the most of what you you’ve got and aspiring for more”
Vocalist, creative developer and project manager Mocci Ryen has become quite a Chameleon in Norwegian music industry. From songwriting tuition with Sir Paul McCartney to jamming with Patti Labelle during the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize Concert and lately international musical collaborations with renowned artists from Pakistan and South Africa – Mocci’s career has taken her all over the world map. In addition to performing on stage, Mocci has made a career of initiating and managing projects in the creative industry. After 6 years as event manager for Oslo World Music Festival, she quit in 2006 to found her own cultural festival “Stoppested Verden” which is now the largest international children’s festival in Norway. Other cultural projects include Oslo chamber music festival 2010, Nobel peace center, Stavanger 2008 – European cultural capitol with dance expo in the Norwegian mountains – on snow, 46664 Tromsø (Mandela-konsert), the 1994 Olympic ceremonies and several tours and exhibitions.
Mocci Ryen is also the initiator of “Idékokeriet” as a response to the growing number of freelancers within the creative business. “Idékokeriet” officially opened the fall of 2009, offers a working environment catering for freelancers who seek dialogue, collaboration and inspiration from other fields of expertise of the cultural and creative industry.

Jonas Olsson
Creative Stockholm
Creative Business Region Stockholm – “Business-in-Residence”
Jonas Olsson is the project manager for the EU funded project “Creative Business Region Stockholm”
Creative Business Region Stockholm is a regional development project aimed at strengthening the business based on an artistic, cultural and creative expression. The project is a collaboration platform between the culture and business sectors in the Stockholm region established in 2009 and will proceed through 2011. One of the project’s main focus areas is the mandate is to formulate a action program of cultural and creative industries within the framework of the Regional Development Plan for the Stockholm Region. Jonas has previously been working at the Swedish Ministry of Culture where he was assigned to formulate a long-term policy for the field of architecture, form and design. This was according to his work at the National Council for Architecture, Form and Design.
Jon Liinason

“How much for a new perspective?”
Jon is key Account Manager, Head of Marketing Department and Project Manager at TILLT, where he communicates the value of employing artists as creative catalysts for improving innovation, communication and core value implementation within business life in Scandinaiva.
His background is in journalism, cultural project management, graphic design, photography and networking for creativity. He is currently managing a Creative City Development Programme for 12 municipalities in the region Skaraborg, called STÄDER SOM STICKER UT www.sssu.se.
Tanel Viksi
Estonian Digital Post-production Centre Programme
“Setting up an audiovisual post-production cluster in Tallinn, Estonia”
Tanel Viksi presents a strategic review of the current situation of the Estonian film sector, and offers a strategic vision for its future development and growth.
His background is in graphic design, project management, networking, and has over 10 years of digital post-production experience. He is currently managing a Estonian Digital Post-production Centre Programme for 15 companies at the local media cluster.
Tiia Rohelsaar
Inspired Generation, Founder and Creative Director
“Design and international entrepreneurship in practical approach”
Tiia holds a Masters degree in Technical Science from the Technical University of Tallinn and has complemented her studies in the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
She started her entrepreneurial career by leaving Eesti Ehitus after several years of being involved with construction project of KUMU. She started her first business in her early twenties. She has since launched two more companies, build them up and succesfully sold them. Tiia has won business plan competitions and has also been awarded with Talent Scholarship by Universidad La Salle Madrid.
Tiia founded Inspired Generation on the core conviction that architecture, engineering, technology and design are inextricably connected. Because of this, Inspired Generation has earned a reputation for designing interior environments that express the core value of their clients and follows sustainable (LEED) and green thinking principals. Part of her success stems from maintaining an attention to detail and a commitment to design quality. Her areas of focus have been mainly the hospitality and health-care sectors. Her practice has been diverse and the geographical scope has widened to include projects in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Years of exploring the World have taken her to over 32 countries including 145 cities. Through the years she has gathered noteworthy network and knowledge about these countries enabling her to start a new media venture.
